I want to become a video game designer of xbox or playstation on any big game company,I am interested in the"art design"section of game designing, what qualifications do I need?聽 |||There's no guarantee that there will be one near you, but there are college courses specifically geared toward going into games art. I took one, and it taught drawing, and 3D modelling, texturing and animation. Games artists are generally expected to have at least some skill and knowledge in all of those, because a knowledge of the full artistic pipeline in producing a game is a must, though specialising in one over the others is usually expected (geared toward the specific role you are looking for). If you want to design characters, assets, levels etc, or be a storyboard artist, you'll want to concentrate on drawing, though you very definitely need skills in 3D modelling as well. In many games companies, especially the smaller ones, artists will fill more than one role or perform different tasks as required (the character designer may also model some of the characters, for example).
Art colleges will vary in what they call the qualification you will need, so if they don't have one exactly as described, look for a course which will allow you to take classes in all of the things listed above, and you're good to go - you may find courses like "3D modelling and animation" and "illustration" and take a double major, for example.
Bear in mind that the companies will be much more interested in your portfolio than your qualifications, but you will develop this as you go through college.
It's a great job, so good luck. :)|||There could be many correct answers for this question. In my opinion, the best thing to do is to visit the gaming company you are interested in designing for, and search their current job openings. Then you can see exactly what qualifications they are looking for.|||masters or phd.
