Guangzhou hosted the 2010 Asian Games. They built a state of the art Guangzhou International Sports Arena which seats 18,000 people to host basketball competitions for the Asian Games. That sports arena is comparable in size to most NBA and NHL stadiums in North America. Will the popular Guangdong Southern Tigers basketball team that plays in the CBA move to the new building? If not, what will the Guangzhou International Sports Arena be used for?|||According to the website of the building's constructor (Mortenson Construction):
"The arena will host Asian Games events in 2010, and become home to a wide variety of world class events such as basketball, international ice events, and major music concerts. "
Apparently, no major tenant post-Asian Games has been announced.
