im planning to go to the video game arts and animation and i was wondering if this was the best place to get my education from, or if there are any better/cheaper alternatives|||I just graduated the animation program at this school. Its not easy and the office environment it gives off is a little unwelcoming and makes you feel like you are at work rather than in school. But it is a great place to learn and is staffed well. Be warned though... the security at this school can sometimes suck.
There are tones of cheaper places to learn from but remember you get what you pay for. Just like you are applying to a university of good name you want to look for reputation. remember other schools such as Ringling, CalArts, and Full Sail all have great reputation...
also you might want to ask yourself what you want to do professionally.
after you deside that go on a tour of the school ignore all the flashy crap the HR tour guide tells you and talk to actual animation and game instructors and students We Will Not Bait you with False Information!
Good Luck my friend!

Jobs are very scarce in the arts, except for architecture. Remember the difference between play and work. Look for fields with good employment prospects.|||I had a friend who graduated last year, she said its an awesome and great school for video arts
