What is the difference between a video game designer and game development and game art?

A game designer designs the game... this can include much more than just the artwork or the nuts and bolts of the game. It also can include story scenarios, character profiles, battle systems, maps, etc.



Game developers are the people who actually build the game, whether they're writing code or animating character models.



Game art includes things like character design, backgrounds, textures, and lighting.What is the difference between a video game designer and game development and game art?
Thank god, Im off to University next year to do a degree in development which I assumed was actually building the game, I almost choose design but I would rather do development. Thanks for this answer, I can chill out now and not worry. :)
