What would be a good computer to buy for gaming/art?

I looking into buying a new computer this summer, the one I currently have...well sucks(2001...).

Now, I need a computer that will have a good amount of space and a good graphic card.

I'm an artist so I need something that can handle all the art programs I already have and pc games as my brother as play a lot of them.

So, what should I get? What would be a good computer to buy for gaming/art?
There is no one good answer. Start with the graphic card. Pick out the graphic card that you want to have first. Then look at the amount of memory and speed and cache it likes. Then look at a computer that provides that card as a feature and make sure that the other factors are there to feed the card. Get the most monitor you can afford. As far as the brand I would get a major brand just because their service is better but as far as which one. Does not matter much. Pick out that card first. As an artist you are going to be the expert on that. What would be a good computer to buy for gaming/art?
Okay well you can build a monster on your own for about 1,000 bucks if you know how to build them. Go to newegg.com its a great site for computers. also if you do not know what you are doing do not build one, just read up on computer's what hardware does what and which pieces and brands are ebst to get. Then go to bestbuy or a decent computer place and buy one. Then for gaming if the computer you buy doesn't have a decent video card for gaming buy one and install it's very simple. But like i said learn about them first otherwise you could get ripped off easily. What would be a good computer to buy for gaming/art?
