I consider, in todays world, there are three forms of mainstream media: Videogames, movies, and music. Movies are generally accepted to be art. some people consider Music can be too. As a quick side question, someone once told me this is why they are called ''artists'', is that true, or just a joke? Anyway, I think, as a personal opinion, that people should consider games to be art. I can remember back in the day where I would have thought that anything, like CBD, or Battlefield 2, or maybe even Halo would be considered an art game. But my greatest example is Heavy Rain. My friend asked me how good it was, and I told him "If games can be considered art, then this has no reason not to be considered an art game''. If it were'nt for the facts of being for PS3, it had a case with a booklet and disc in it, wasnt sold in Gamestop, and the price tag wasnt 60$, I wouldnt really even consider it a game more than an interactive movie. But if anyone doesnt think of games as art, they definitely should play something like Heavy Rain, and their opinion would probably change. Are video games a form of art?
yes, i would say it's a form of art, just like movies are. because it requires a strong talent in creativity.
