I go to a camp and im a jc im being judged on how to lead a game in arts in crafts with a group of kids ages 3-5 i need some ideas on a game or project where i can be involved but it also has to be artsy and age appropriateHELP!Art games for preschoolers?
Ideas:
1. Do a book and a craft that go together. Read the book "Corduroy" by Don Freeman. Then have them each decorate a Teddy Bear shape cut from construction paper. You cut the teddy bears out in advance and give one to each child. Get the book at the Library. If you want to get fancy, use buttons for the eyes, black felt for the nose.
2. Book/Craft with "Planting a Rainbow" by Lois Ehlert. This is a book about growing flowers. The kids could each cut out a big flower (you may have to help the little ones) then cut out a center for the flower in a different color and glue it on. Cut out leaves and a stem. Color or decorate the petals of their flower with glitter, or pieces of colored paper cut into small squares, or squares of tissue paper. The students can each take their flower home, or you can make a display. Put them all together on a long piece of paper. It would take the kind of paper that comes on a long roll. Another way to display the flowers would be to tape them to the wall going down a hallway. You have to be careful with tape, sometimes it takes the paint off the wall when you take things down. Use masking tape, that helps.
3. If you want to be really Artsy, you can have them paint yellow sunflowers, like Vincent VanGogh. You can find pictures of his painting "Sunflowers" at the website: art.com. Show the kids the painting from a book, show them as many pictures of sunflowers as possible, or go to a garden store and buy a real sunflower in a pot. Demonstrate how to make a petal by laying down your paintbrush filled with yellow paint, and making a fat "line". Then make a brown center- but be warned...you are working with really young children, and most likely, their pictures will be yellow blobs. By adding the brown paint, you could just end up with a mess the color of vomit. To help bring out the idea of a "flower" in the picture, I have used other things rather than paint for the flower center. Brown fabric, sandpaper, or brown print scrapbook paper are all cute. Usually I cut some circles in various sizes in advance, but also bring along extra paper for more. Let the paint dry before gluing on the centers. You could also cut out vases from construction paper and glue the vase to the picture. A book to go with this would be "Camille and the Sunflowers" by Lawrence Anholt. It's about VanGogh.
fold a piece of paper in thirds. head body and legs. have the kids draw one body part and without looking trade. the kids really enjoy seeing the funny animals or monsters. example: giraffe head girl body and monkey legs.Art games for preschoolers?

BOTH have GREAT choices! Good luck! :D
1)Give them lumps of clay and sparkles. help them mold the clay into...something(?) and then let them cover it in sparkles! ^_^
2)Or you could print colouring sheets of the internet and let them colour those!
3)Giver every child/kid a paintbrush, paint, and a pinecone, and let them decorate it however they like!
FYI, for them, they just like to make things and get messy :) Have fun, little kids will always make your day brighter! :)Art games for preschoolers?
