why do you think its not? VG's have been the best work of art yet. with more and more graphically amazing games coming out, the trend is diverting more towards gaming. Take fore example Prince of persia: the forgotten sands or God of war III, look how incredibly detailed the environment is. The colors and the mood of the game is defined by the environment of the game.
Ofcourse they are the work of art.
