Well, you will definitely need to be familiar with Macromedia Flash, Adobe and Photoshop type programs. There are many courses you can take to get into game design at universities and colleges and to get into these courses you will need A-C grades in Maths and English and 2 other subjects. Art would have been useful but it is not necessary. You will definitely need ICT. Technical drawing [if your school do it] also would have been useful, although it is also not necessary.
Hope I helped, X.Do i need an art gcse to become a games designer??
GCSE's are useless.
Get as many as you can in whatever (English maths and science)
Then go to college, get A-Levels
Then go to uni and get a degree in Computer design, or something that will aid your goal
Seriously, GCSE's don't mean **** to major companies.
