Are video games, manga and anime recognised as art?

I feel video games, anime and manga are not recognised as art in Wales, but is it recognised as art overall?Are video games, manga and anime recognised as art?
I would think so over here because a lot of people are drawing it, and the reason why people are drawn to video games is because of the graphics which is art. Cover art is also very important, if it doesn't look good, no one will buy it. It's under appreciated and not talked a lot as art but everyone unconsciously appreciates the good looks of the art. For example people will say: "Oh, I love that cover" or "I love the look of the character" but they're basically saying that they like the art.Are video games, manga and anime recognised as art?
I would think so, you have to draw these things as well you know :) just like art ;)
