Are Video Games a form of Art?

Can a Video game be art? Why or why not?



If yes, what's an example of a game that you consider to be art?Are Video Games a form of Art?
In my opinion yes.

Games consist of a large portfolio of people's imagination and creativity. From the music to the game imagery the whole thing comes together to form an entirely new universe where anything is possible. Art knows no bounds and that can be said for games. The way a game is put together requires meticulous detail which is similar to art, it induces vivid emotions in the player to which is the same for a viewer of a painting or the listener to a love song.

An example of a game I consider to be art would be FFX. The CGI is just brillliant from the theme song (to zanarkand), the landscaping, to the creation of the characters.. :)
